This should NEVER have taken this long. I may be a United fan, but I would never wish any team, fan, or any person to go through this. This goes to show how the 1980's in football was a VERY DARK time for English football and football in general. You had the Bradford City fire that killed more than 50 people because of years of trash being piled up under the stands and lit cigarette's caused it. It could of been prevented by simple clean up. Then you had the Heysel incident where hooligans especially Liverpool fans against Juventus was the main reason more than people 30 died. Then you had hooliganism the worst being the 1980 Scottish cup with Rangers v. Celtic. Then it all culminated up to the HIllsborough disaster. Poor stadium layout and poor crowd control and horrible disaster management led up to this situation. Thankfully, the Taylor report forced changes in stadium seating, crowd control, disaster management. Thankfully today, hooliganism has been rare in English football and compared to 20 years ago English football has been more competitive with being in international players.
